Singapore High Commissioner to Brunei appointed

Singapore - The. Singapore government yesterday appointed Mr Jaya Ratnam as the country's next High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam. Mr Ratnam will assume his post on June 18, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said, Channel News Asia reported.

Mr Ratnam joined the MFA in 1991 and has served in Europe, Southeast Asia, the MFA's International Organisations and International Economics Directorates, as well as the Singapore Missions in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and the United Nations (Geneva).

He also held the appointment of director of International Economics.

His most recent appointment was as Director-General of the Consular Directorate at the MFA from January 2011 to May 2012.
