Bandar Seri Begawan - Seven individuals comprising four Ibans, a Dusun man and two Chinese women embraced Islam at a conversion ceremony held yesterday at the Mau'Izah Hall, Darul Huda Building of the Islamic Dakwah Centre in Kg Pulaie.
The ceremony was witnessed by the chief guest, Ustaz Haji Harun bin Haji Juned, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Also present were the Acting Director of the Islamic Dakwah Centre and officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The new converts are now known by their Muslim names Dayang Fauzeyah Syaza binti Abdullah (Iban) along with her children, Muhammad Khairul Nizam bin Abdullah who is only a year old, Dayang Nur Alya binti Abdullah and her son Muhammad Syahrul Ryzwan bin Abdullah aged one, Muhammad Saiful Aizan bin Abdullah, 28, of Dustin descent, Nur Sajidah Yek binti Abdullah (Chinese) and 25-year-old Indonesian Chinese Kheyla Adelia bte Abdullah.
The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a Dikir Marhaban presentation and sprinkling of "Bunga Rampai" on the new converts who are also provided with a 10-day Islamic introduction guidance class, convert guidance class, a 14-day basic guidance scheme and an advanced guidance scheme.
