Emergency treatment for outpatients will resume as normal at Block A of the centre.

Bandar Seri Begawan - Following a fire incident at the Berakas National Dental Centre, Old Airport Road on March 2 at around 5.15pm, the Ministry of Health has informed that several services at the centre will be temporarily affected from March 4 until a later date.

In last Saturday's blaze, which occurred during working hours, the fire broke out and damaged the reception, waiting areas and a specialist room at Block N. The Fire and Rescue personnel, led by Awg Yahya Hj Abd Rahman, the Director of Fire and Rescue, and Deputy Director Lim Hock Guan, acted swiftly to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause is still under investigation.

Among the affected services include the Specialist Treatment Services Clinic and Dental Laboratories, including appointments made for dental treatments in Block B. However, emergency treatment for outpatients will resume normally at Block A of the Berakas National Dental Centre.

While the repairing of dentures are available at any dental laboratories, patients can utilise these services at the dental laboratories of Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Health Centre in Sungai Asam, the Muara Health Centre, or the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital in Tutong.

The Ministry of Health through the Dental Services Department is working hard to resume services as soon as possible.

The ministry also thanked the public for their cooperation and assistance during the fire incident.
