hancuffBandar Seri Begawan - Police personnel from the Seria Police Station yesterday arrested two theft suspects: both local Malay men; one aged 26 years and the other ire his early 20s.

The victim and both suspects were colleagues, working as security guards, and on September 25, the 26-year-old suspect drove the victim to work, where the victim left his mobile phone and wallet in the car due to the reason that their workplace prohibits one from bringing mobile phones to work.

After completing their shifts, the victim discovered that his belongings were nowhere to be seen inside the car. Immediately, he reported the matter to his supervisor-in-charge, who then carried out a spot check and found the victim's mobile phone hidden in the car of the second suspect.

The supervisor then contacted the Seria Police Station for further investigation.

The police investigation subsequently revealed that the 26-year-old suspect, during his shift, went back to his car and passed the victim's belongings to the second suspect, who then proceeded to hide the mobile phone in his car, while trying to destroy the evidence by burning the wallet near the compound.

Following the investigations the police managed to retrieve the stolen items and both suspects who are believed to be involved in the case were detained and will be brought to the BSB Magistrate's Court today. If found guilty, they will be prosecuted under Sections 380 and 427 of the Penal Code Act.

The Royal Brunei Police Force urges members of the public to continue their cooperation and work hand-in-hand in combatting crime in the country.
