Bandar Seri Begawan - A senior citizen who resides with his wife and three of his children, can now breathe a sigh of relief after a certificate of completion was presented to him following the completion of repairs carried out at his home in Kampong Jangsak.
Previously, the residence of Awg Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman, 89, was in a dilapidated condition and considered not safe to live in.
As a result, Awg Mohammad sought urgent assistance from His Majesty's Government in rendering help to his needy family.
The Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) allocated B$9,800 in financial assistance, which was derived from tithe funds for the purpose of repairing the lower section of his house.
The repair works were conducted in collaboration with the Brunei-Muara District Office.
The Secretary of the MUIB, Awg Hj Abdul Wahab bin Hj Sapar presented the senior citizen with the certificate acknowledging the completion of repair works.
Also present to witness the presentation were the Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer, Awg Hj Abd Hamid bin Dato Paduka Hj Abdullah; the Deputy Secretaty of MUIB and officials from both the MUIB and Brunei-Muara District Office, as well as the Penghulu of Mukim Kilanas and the village head of Kampong Kilanas.
