School Celebrates 15th Anniversary, Snake Year

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Seri Mulia Sarjana International School (SMSIS) yesterday held a two-in-one event - the 15th anniversary logo and slogan launching, as well as Chinese New Year celebration.

For 15 years, the school has focused on its vision and mission of providing quality international education to produce students who are competent academically and socially.

The 15th anniversary ceremony was preceded by a logo and slogan competition, open exclusively to the students of the school.

Alessandra Angela C Gomez of Year 4C won the school's logo design competition and received a trophy, certificate and cash prize of $100.

Marvin Jonathan B Santos of Year 2A came in second place, winning a McDonald's voucher worth $30, along with a certificate. Joshua M Ege of Year 1B came in third place, which earned him a $20 McDonald's voucher and a certificate.

In the slogan competition, James Lam Shaoyou of Year 2A was the winner, taking home a trophy, certificate and a $100 cash prize.

Chloe Lam Yunyi of Year 4B and Ashley Lam Yunqian of Year 5B each received a certificate along with a $30 and $20 McDonald's voucher for coming in second and third respectively.

The awards were presented by the Head of SMSIS, Rita Lim, who was assisted by the Deputy Head, Chong Wee Meng.

The Chief Executive Officer of SMSIS, Dr Mary Lim and Rita Lim unveiled the winning logo and slogan.

Students also presented a multi-cultural dance and a lion dance to entertain the guests, teachers, parents and students.
