Bandar Seri Begawan - Pembela Association and PERBEKAL Association yesterday joined forces to set up the "Save Gaza" humanitarian fundraising campaign, with plans of organising various fundraising events throughout the districts.
The project called "KRP2" will be implemented early February. This was stated by organising committee at the meeting held yesterday at Ministry of Culture, Youths and Sports.
The meeting was attended by volunteer teams comprising school students and higher learning institutions in the country.
The meeting was a continuation of a previous meeting to discuss welfare activities to be carried out in the respective districts, and at the same time to find new volunteers and organising committee members.
The campaign is expected to kick off in early February and will be held for three days in each of the respective districts.
Among the activities planned for the event include food bazaar, sports competitions such as Superbike, car shows as well as an SME exhibition.
All proceeds from the campaign will be channelled to the Save Gaza Humanitarian kind. In the Brunei-Muara District the campaign is called "MEGA BAH GAUL TIN". More than 100 people attended the meeting yesterday.
The (KRP2) Concerned Citizens and Residents Group had previously held a similar fund raising campaign in 2004 for tsunami victims in Aceh, Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the organising committee is inviting the public to become volunteers with the mission to Save Gaza.
