RBPF Holds Ceremony To Welcome Home Haj Pilgrims

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) yesterday held a ceremony in conjunction with the new Islamic year 1434 Hijrah and a thanksgiving prayer for returning Haj pilgrims comprising RBPF personnel, at the Gadong Police Headquarters yesterday.

The guest of honour at the event was the Commissioner of Police, Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Adam Dato Paduka Seri Hj Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Hj Sabtu, who was accompanied by his wife, Datin Hjh Kamariah binti OKIP Shari.

Also present were the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dato Seri Pahlawan Awg Bahrin bin Mohd Noor, directors, deputy directors, commanding officers, heads of department, and general RBPF personnel.

The ceremony was organised by the Islamic Religious Body of the RBPF in cooperation with PEKERTI.

The returning police personnel are S/Supt Pg Hj Mohd Roslin bin Pg Hj Bakar, Supt Hj Zaini bin Hj Abd Rahman, SM 71 Hj Besrah bin Hj Md Rais, S/Sgt 1957 Hj Mat Kaseh bin Jerudin, W/Sgt 1527 Hjh Saidah binti Hj Bagol, Cpl 1886 Hj Mohammad bin Hj Jaafar, Cpl 3372 Hj Sumardi bin Jumat, and L/Cpl 3044 Pg Hj Asyura bin Pg Hj Metassan.

The event began with a Surah al-Fatihah recital led by the Imam of the Gadong Police Headquarters Surau, SM 1671 Pg Hj Ludin bin Pg Hj Mat Tahir, followed by a lecture entitled 'Pilgrimage and Migration of the Prophet' by a representative of the Islamic Dakwah Centre, Ustaz Hj Muzkarisman Safari bin Hj Mohammad.

The event was enlivened with a Dzikir Syarafil Anam presentation and the traditional sprinkling of scented flowers on the Haj pilgrims. The function ended with a thanksgiving prayer.
