Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to grant the Royal Brunei Air Force Honourary Pilot Wing to Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton.
At the Royal Brunei Air Force Headquarters yesterday, Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin presented the Royal Brunei Air Force Honourary Pilot Wing to Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton, Chief of the Air Staff Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom.
According to a press statement from the Ministry of Defence, the medal was bestowed in acknowledgement of the Air Chief Marshal's exceptional service, priceless efforts and involvement in reinforcing the bonds between the Royal Brunei Air Force and Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom.
Prior to the ceremony Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by Royal Brunei Air Force personnel at the Parade Square of the Royal Brunei Air Force Headquarters.
During his stay in Brunei, the Air Chief Marshal will also make a courtesy call to Deputy Minister of Defence Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat at the Ministry of Defence in Bolkiah Garrison.
Separate calls on the Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force, Colonel (U) Haji Wardi bin Haji Abd Latip, were both made at the Rimba Air Force Base.
Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton was promoted to Air Chief Marshal in April 2009 and was appointed Chief of the Air Staff on July 31, 2009.
The Royal Brunei Air Force will be hosting a farewell visit for Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton from February 22 to 24.
