Bandar Seri Begawan - India is famous for a variety of things. One important entity in them is the Indian education.
Various opportunities are provided by Indian education, both private and public sectors, for the Non-Resident Indians (NRI) as well as to people of Indian origin and overseas students.
To make these things known to the Indian community in Bandar Seri Begawan, the Indian Association of Bandar Seri Begawan organised a talk titled "Indian Education for NRIs" yesterday.
Around 60 members and family members of the association benefited from the event.
The President of the Indian Association of Bandar Seri Begawan, Dr A Sundrapandi welcomed the gathering and introduced the speaker to the audience. Dr Seyed Mohamed Buhari, a senior lecturer at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) explained the various facts that remain as the motivation factor behind Indian education.
A detailed discussion was also given on various educational schemes such as the Know India Programme, Study India Programme, Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC), Direction Admissions of Students Abroad (DASA), Self-Financing Scheme (SFS) and many more.
Following the lecture, a discussion panel consisting of the head of department (Biology) of the Science College, assistant principal of St George's School, a senior lecturer of MTSSR and the speaker, answered various questions raised by the gathering.
The lecture is part of the Indian Association of Bandar Seri Begawan's Professional Talk Series to enlighten the members and the community on various significant topics.
