Proud Day For 146th Intake RBAF Recruits

Bandar Seri Begawan - It was a proud day for 100 male recruits of the 146"' intake of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) as they concluded their 25-week long Basic Military Training at the Training Institute RBAF in Penanjong Garrison yesterday.

Receiving the General Salute as guest of honour at the passing out parade ceremony held at the garrison's Parade Square was Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Hamid bin Hj Mohd Jaafar, Permanent Secretary (Cultural) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Also in attendance was. the Commander of the RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin.

At the ceremony, Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Hamid inspected the parade and delivered a speech in which he commended the role of the RBAF in shaping today's youths in becoming the forefront to the nation's security and defence.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of awards to instructors and recruits who demonstrated excellent skills in various aspects during the training.

Best Platoon Sergeant was awarded to 14517 Sjn Wisly bin Hj Mt Salleh while the Best Male Instructor award went to 14458 Cpl Hendry bin Mahari.

Meanwhile, 50003 Rec Muhd Hanis Hilmi bin Pawi was awarded the Best Overall Recruit, 50035 Rec Muhammad Khairul Anwar bin Muhammad was the Best M16 A2 Rifle Shooter, 50039 Rec Muhammad Nurhazman bin Aladin emerged the Best Shooter in Heavy Barrel Automatic Rifle, 50015 Rec Razimie bin Ramli was the Best in Physical Training, and 50000 Rec Mohd Nazirul Hazwan bin Jamaluddin was awarded the Best in Academic.

Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Hamid and Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Aminuddin Ihsan also took their time to mingle with the recruits and their respective family members during a reception after the ceremony.

The ceremony also saw the presence of the Deputy Commander of the RBAF, Service Commanders, Commandants, Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks of RBAF, as well as parents, family members and relatives of the recruits.
