Bandar Seri Begawan - The Eye Clinic at Sungai Hanching Clinic was closed last Monday for reasons unknown that caught many patients who turned up for their appointments by surprise.
A patient, who complained to the Bulletin that he went to the clinic for the initial registration for the Eye Clinic was told that the clinic is closed on Mondays.
"Nobody is working at the Eye Clinic this morning," said a dental receptionist from a neighbouring unit.
Much to the person's bemusement, the person replied that the staff at the main registration counter did not inform of any closure during the registration process.
The person then returned to the main registration counter, where they expressed surprise at the unexpected closure.
A staff there said this had happened before, where the eye clinic had not informed them of unannounced closures.
When the Bulletin approached the personnel at the clinic, they were also in the dark as to why the eye clinic was closed on Monday. The timetable clearly shows opening times for the eye clinic for walk-in checks from 8am-llam for Mondays and Tuesday.
There was also a handwritten note pasted on the door of the Eye Clinic stating that it is closed on November 3 and I4. But why was it closed on November 12? Clearly even the registration counter was not informed of this closure. And this was certainly not convenient for patients, most of whom have had to juggle their busy schedules to make time for medical appointments.
