Bandar Seri Begawan - The Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) yesterday had its first science show session led by science show expert, Dr Graham Walker. The three-day science show is part of OGDC's school holiday programme open to children of all ages.
The show started off with two of OGDC's science communicators presenting a topic on elasticity. The aim of the science show is to present and promote science in an exciting way by incorporating the `HA-HA element'. Most of the science demonstrations were carried out with maximum interactions between the presenter and the audience.
From tiny to big outbursts, the experiments conducted created a fun and exciting environment for the children. Curious children were given the chance to raise their doubts during a question-and answer session with Dr Walker himself. The show concluded with an explosion of the loud hydrogen-filled balloon.
OGDC received excellent feedback from the first batch of audience at the end of the show The OGDC team hopes that shows such as this will inspire more children to be interested in science and technology.
The final science show by Dr Graham Walker and OGD C's science communicators will be on March 13.
