Bandar Seri Begawan - A Ghurkha Reserve Unit officer was fined $3,000 or serve jail for six months in default of payment after he pleaded guilty to tampering with an entry and an exit endorsement in his passport before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Rojailani bin Rosli, 29, went to Limbang to see his girlfriend on Aug 3, 2011.

There was an entry and an exit endorsement from the Malaysian immigration for the defendant's day trip.

The defendant admitted that it was during this trip that he sprinkled some water on the endorsements and rubbed them with his fingers so that his superiors would not find out that he had left the country that day.
