Bandar Seri Begawan - Berakas police have made rounds in the Anggerek area and found no signs of an alleged stabbing, which a recent Facebook post claims, resulted in the death of an individual, the body of whom was left with the alleged victim's children still in the car.
A spokesperson for the Royal Brunei Police Force told The Brunei Times yesterday that Berakas police patrolled the area on Thursday but found no "suspicious" activity there.
Nonetheless, if the purported incident had indeed taken place, the spokesperson urged any eyewitness to lodge a formal report with the Berakas police station or the nearest police station, so the police can conduct an investigation.
The post, which has been circulating among Bruneian users on the social networking site as early as Wednesday, said in Malay that a victim had been stabbed near Anggerek.
"We have been informed, (from an) unconfirmed report, (that) a victim was stabbed and died in (a) car and children - probably the victim's - were still in the car," the Facebook post notified.
The post also urged members of the public, who may have witnessed any suspicious activity near the alleged crime scene area to come forward.
