Bandar Seri Begawan - Dato Marsal Primary School recently celebrated Brunei's 29th National Day at the school compound.
The students gathered outside the school building early in the morning prior to a National Day procession to witness the handing over of the national flag from the School Headmaster, Cikgu Haji Amir bin Haji Zaini to a student representative.
This was followed with the mini-procession heading to the school's multipurpose hall, then a mass rendition of Brunei's national anthem.
After the Surah Al-Fatihah was read, a student, Ak Ahmad Khairi bin Pg Khairul proceeded to lead the rest of the school with the National Day oath.
Video presentations entitled 'Brunei during World War II', 'The Land of Brunei' and 'Brunei's National Aspiration 2013' were shown on a big projector to educate and foster a sense of appreciation towards Brunei's independence among the students.
The students further portrayed their patriotism with singing performances with songs such as `Purih Bangsa', 'Brunei Bumi Bertuah' and `Misi Merdeka'.
There was also a national day quiz towards the end of the ceremony.
Before it ended, the students chanted Allahu Akbar' and then once again sang the national anthem.
