Bandar Seri Begawan - A 36-Year-Old Malaysian with a Brunei permanent residency was given a month's time to pay his $1,000 fine or in default serve two months' jail after pleading guilty before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court yesterday for not producing his passport to the Limbang Immigration Officer upon entering Limbang and re-entering Brunei Darussalam.

Heren Octovian bin Md Indera was detained when he re-entered the country on September 30, 2012 and told the Immigration officer that he did not possess his passport that clay and failed to produce it upon request.

Heren admitted during investigations that the reason he did not produce his passport was because his re-entry permit had expired on September 9, 2012 and was afraid he would not be accepted to re-enter Brunei by the border control officers.
