MPM Liang To Conduct 'Mukim Sihat' Programme

Kuala Belait - A meeting for the proposed `Mukim Sihat' programme in conjunction with the Knowledge Convention 2012 was recently organised by the Mukim Liang Consultative Council (MPM Liang).

The meeting was chaired by the Penghulu of Mukim Liang, Awg Hj Abd Hamid bin Momin and was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Health (MoH) and committee members of the MPM as well as the village consultative council committee members of Mukim Liang.

The proposed `Mukim Sihat' programme involves a walkathon event, which will take place on November 4 at Pantai Peranginan Sungai Liang. The residents of Kg Sg Liang, Kg Lumut I and Kg Lumut II will be participating in the event, which is also open for residents of the Belait District.

Furthermore, officers and staff from government departments, private sectors as well as non-profit organisations in the district are also welcome to join the walkathon.

Apart from the walkathon, the `Mukim Sihat' programme will also be filled with various side activities including a health awareness exhibition, activities for senior citizens, a healthy cooking contest and many more.

The programme is hoped to entertain visitors as well as encourage the community to practise a healthy lifestyle.
