Grand draw to mark KIA becoming the top bestselling car brand in Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan - Lady Luck must have been on the side of Dk Amy Rainy Pg Junaidi when she picked the key to drive home a brand new KIA Optima 2.4L SX (A) worth approximately $38,800 in the 'Win A KIA Optima Grand Draw' held at the Orchid Garden Hotel yesterday.

A total of 50 people were shortlisted for the grand draw and Dk Amy Rainy picked envelop number 44 to obtain the key to her new KIA Optima.

The grand draw is to celebrate KIA gaining the number one bestselling car brand in Brunei for the first six months of the year.

The guest of honour at the event was Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam, Byung Koo Choi. The car was handed over to DI< Amy Rainy by Choi Seon Pil, President/Regional HQ Asia of KIA Motors Corporation.

After winning the car, she had to perform the famed Oppa Gangnam Style' dance with the Korean Ambassador as well as Choi Seon Pil and senior management of Grand Motors, the main distributor of KIA cars in Brunei.

Dk Amy Rainy, who works at BSP, believes that her six-month-old baby girl brought the luck to win her biggest ever lucky draw prize.

"My baby girl, Aleeya, who is now six months old, may have brought the luck to win the draw. I didn't expect that I could win against the other 49 other entries."

The mother of two girls who bought a KIA Cerato for her parents in July this year will keep the new Optima for herself. She is impressed with the KIA driving experience.

Recalling the moment of winning the car, she said, "My hand was 'shaking and my heart was pounding rapidly when I pressed the key fob. After the signal light came on, I was so excited that I won."

The remaining participants did not go home empty-handed as they were given prizes.

Prior to the draw, the contestants were feted with a buffet high-tea accompanied with entertainment by Fakhrul Razi.

Also present at the grand draw were Frankie Ho, Managing Director of Grand Motors; Hj Shaiful Rizal bin Pehin Dato Dr Hj Ahmad, Executive Director of Grand Motors; and Teng Chee Khiong, Director of Grand Motors.
