Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday announced that a series of religious events will be held to in conjunction with the new Hijrah and the end of 1433 Hijrah.
MoRA in a press release yesterday said, the celebration at the national level for the first day of 1434 Hijrah will be held this Wednesday, November 14/ 1st Muharram, 1434 Hijrah at the Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong.
The Ministry said the event, themed "Virtuous People, Blessed Country" will commence with the recitation of prayers to mark the end of 1433 Hijrah before the mass Maghrib prayer.
It will be followed by the recitation of prayers to mark the beginning of 1434 Hijrah and mass Sunnat Hajat prayer.
The highlight of the event will be the announcement of religious leaders, Meritorious Award for religious figures and a Tribute Award in honour of Hijrah 1434.
In addition, a forum will be held to elaborate more on the theme of 1434 Hijrah.
Babies born on the first day of Muharram 1434 Hijrah will be treated with gifts.
