Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Finance and its departments and divisions held a Korban ceremony yesterday, at the Theatre Hall of the ministry's building at Commonwealth Drive in Berakas.

Present at the ceremony was Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abdul Rahman bin Hj Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister's Office.

Also present were Dato Paduka Awg Hj Bahrin bin Abdullah, the Deputy Minister of Finance; Permanent Secretaries; the Managing Director of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam; Deputy Permanent Secretaries; Heads of Department and Division; and officers and staff of the Ministry of Finance.

Some 70 participants comprising officers and staff of the Ministry of Finance and its departments and divisions participated in the Korban rituals this yean

The event began with the mass recital of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Awg Ak Mohd Adibul Amin Pg Hj Nlarzuki. It was then followed by the distribution of the Korban meat to the participants and special recipients, which was handed over by Pehin Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abd Rahman.

The ceremony is one of the annual activities of the Ministry of Finance and its departments and divisions.

This year's ceremony was organised by Brunei Investment Agency (BIA).
