Minister Makes Working Visit To Tutong District

Tutong - The Minister of Religious Affairs, Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, following a visit to the Belait District (See Page 12), made a working visit to several sites in the Tutong District, including the new Bukit Dapa Muslim Cemetery project site, Kiudang Religious School and Association of Muslims Converts (PESATU) of Tutong District.

Among the objectives of the visit were to inspect the progress of projects undertaken by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in the Tutong District, to meet with some prominent figures of the communities, and to get a closer look at problems faced by agencies related to the ministry.

The minister first met with members of PESATU at the premises of the association in Kampong Lubok Pulau.

Later, Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad and his entourage checked on the progress of the Phase Two works of the new Bukit Dapa Muslim Cemetery project site in Kampong Kiudang.

With the new cemetery, which will be more systematic, it is hoped that layout of burials will be more properly arranged to ease visits to the grave.

The Bukit Dapa Muslim Cemetery is designated for Mukim Kiudang and its surrounding area. The land size is about five acres. Construction works were contracted to Syarikat Seri Padat, with the project costing B$36,730. Among its infrastructure include a resting house, car park with 20 cars capacity, pedestrian walkway among the burial plots and gates.

After visiting the Bukit Dapa project site and before concluding the working visit, the minister went to Kiudang Religious School, where he listened to a briefing and held discussions with the school principal and teachers.

Among Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad's entourage were Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs; Awg Hj Abdul Aziz bin Orang Maya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, the Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religion) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; Dato Paduka Awang Sa Bali bin Abas, the Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; Ustaz Awg Hj Harun bin Hj Junid, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; as well as directors and officers under the ministry.
