Bandar Seri Begawan - The Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah D'ato Paduka Haji Awang Othman called a generation of students who were present yesterday to be leaders in any industry during a dialogue session on the opening day of the Brunei Darussalam's Overseas Undergraduate Civic Course 2013.

The minister responded to questions posed by course participants, whereby students were provided opportunities to ask questions which addresses to the current affairs and perspectives of the nation's interests.

The minister indicated that there should be a change of focus in making such job opportunities available within the government in the future. Wide job opportunities in the industry may not necessarily be present in the government sector but are available in the private sector.

"For example, now, there are a lot of engineers that have built their own firms or join existing private firms. And still there are not enough engineers. This is due to the lack of manpower," the minister said.

On his own academic experience, the minister also shared that successful institutions are those which teaches the Arabic language and religion up to secondary level.

When asked about his studying experience, the minister replied that his academic background also exerted much political influence as the teachers were politically-oriented. The minister said that what they learnt became a basis of their overall experience for the initial batch of students during his time.
