Bandar Seri Begawan - The 12th GASEX Conference and Exhibition 2012 was officially opened by Jero Wacik, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, in Bali, Republic of Indonesia on the October 9. GASEX is an event to showcase development in the gas sector and this year it carries the theme "Unleashing Potential, Sustaining Growth".
During an opening speech by Jero Wacik, he emphasised on Indonesia's stand that whatever development or investment is done in Indonesia, priority is that it is able to meet the country's interest especially in providing jobs and reducing poverty.
Representing on behalf of the Government of Brunei Darussalam for GASEX 2012 was Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awg Hj Mohd Yasmin bin Hj Umar, the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office.
Also attending was Dato Paduka Mahmud Hj Saidin, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Indonesia and Haji Jamain Hj Julaihi, Permanent Secretary (Downstream & Power) at the Prime Minister's Office.
Also attending were Dato Paduka Hj Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, CEO of PetroleumBRUNEI; Mohammad bin Haji Damit, MD of Brunei LNG; and Shahbudin Hj Musa, MD of Brunei Gas Carrier (BGC).
As part of the GASEX 2012, the signing of Conventional and Unconventional Oil and Gas for several PSC blocks in Indonesia also took place. A total of 32 exhibition booths are set up including from Brunei Darussalam.
Brunei is showcasing its economy and Brunei LNG its business. The GASEX enables major gas players in the industry to interact and also get the latest updates in technology in the gas industry.
