Mini Convocation For Nusa Jaya School Students

Tutong - Nusa Jaya School (SNJ), Tutong held its mini convocation and education festival ceremony for its Kindergarten Three students yesterday, at the Tutong Civic Centre.

Present as guest of honour at the event was Awg Shamsul Bahrin bin Hj Mohd Hussain, the Acting Tutong District Officer.

Also in attendance were the President/Advisor of Nusa Laila Puteri School, Dr Pg Amir Mohd Yussof bin Pg Abbas Al Haj, Awg Hj Abdul Majid bin Hj Hidup, Marketing Officer of Insurans Islam TAIB, Mukim Penghulus and village heads, parents and families of the students.

The objective of the mini convocation, according to the Principal of Nusa Jaya School, Dr Hjh Sharifah Noor binti Hj Saiyed Ibrahim, was to celebrate the completion of the KG3 students and to welcome them to the more formal Year One education, which will be "more challenging and interesting".

The principal said that SNJ students had the opportunity to study three languages: Bahasa Melayu, English and Arabic. Religious education is also emphasised at SNJ.

She further stated that SNJ takes part in many competitions such as the Maths & Science Olympiad, Inforama colouring contest, debates, painting, 'tausyeh' and 'nasyid'.

The principal also informed the parents that SNJ is currently applying for relocation of its school premises in Penanjong to Kampong Petani, Tutong Town for the new academic year 2013.
