Members Of MTMIB Attend Seminar In Pontianak

Pontianak, Indonesia - A delegation from the Malay Islamic Monarchy Supreme Council Secretariat (MTMIB) left for Pontianak yesterday to participate in the International Seminar on Malay Glory to be held today and tomorrow.

The seminar, organised by the West Kalimantan Customs Council, is held in collaboration with the Malay Culture Research Centre, Tanjungpura University, Indonesia.

Dr Awg Hj Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong, Senior Special Duties Officer and Secretary/Head of MTMIB, will be presenting his working paper entitled "Malay Islamic Monarchy: Brunei Community Lifestyle". His paperwork will focus on the concept of Malay Islamic Monarchy as being in line with the national's philosophy as part of the Brunei Malay Heritage since at least 600 years ago.

He will also emphasise on the role of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in preserving and upholding the national philosophy, which is in line with the National Vision 2025.

Meanwhile, another paper will also be presented by Associate Professor Ampuan Dr Hj Brahim bin Ampuan Hj Tengah, Director of the Brunei Academic Studies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Member of the MTMIB Secretariat, entitled "Nilai Kemelayuan Dalam Konsep Melayu Islam Beraja".

At the same time, delegates will have the chance to highlight The Glory of the Sultanate of Brunei' in preserving and upholding Malay civilisation in Borneo.

During the two-day seminar, the Brunei delegates will have the opportunity to share information and knowledge, aside from fostering relationships with one other.
