Sungai Tampoi - A foreign maid reportedly sustained serious injuries when a spray can allegedly exploded in the kitchen of a house in Kg Sungai Tampoi Wednesday night.

According to the house owner, the incident happened around 7.30pm when a loud explosion was heard in the house. The maid rushed out from the kitchen covered in blood to warn the family members.

However shortly after, the victim passed out.

Neighbours came over to the house to provide assistance. The Fire and Rescue Department was called to put out the fire.

The power of the explosion was so strong that the back door of the kitchen was blown off and all the windows were shattered. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
