Kuala Belait - Aidilfitri celebrations are still enthusiastically ongoing in the Belait District with residents holding gatherings and open houses for their family members, extended relatives, friends and neighbours.

Recently, the Lumut 1 Village Consultative Council organised an Aidilfitri get-together that was attended by members of the council, penghulus, village heads, invited guests and officers of the Belait District Office as well as youths of MPK Lumut 1.

The guests of honour were Belait District Officer, Awg Hj Haris bin Haji Othman and Belait Legislative Council members, YB Hj Mohd Shafiee Ahmad and YB Hj Mohd Yusof Dulamin.

The event's chairman, Hj Mas Yose bin Abdul in his welcoming remarks urged his audience to take the month of Syawal as an opportunity to conduct self-reflection and make further improvements based on their realisations for the benefit of the society

He further stated that Syawal is a good platform to further strengthen bonds of friendship by visiting one another, asking for forgiveness and caring for each other.

The occasion was enlivened with performances by the youths of MPK Lumut 1, a performance by a Mirza nasyid group, a lucky draw and a best dress competition.
