Bandar Seri Begawan - Working in cooperation with Eco-scape of China, local company Mascqui Oil Sdn Bhd has opened up the possibility of establishing a beef production enterprise in inner Mongolia with Kerchin Cattle Industry Co Ltd, as it aspires to support the food security programme of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
The cooperating companies would later register in Brunei a new joint venture platform company as a vehicle for investment funds for the inner Mongolia production prospect.
The objective is not solely for food production but also to promote improved pasture grazing practice for the global grassland rehabilitation initiative.
Grassland is an exclusive host environment not only for the replenishment of valuable water resources, but also functions as the only hospitable habitat of biodiversity. Kerchin Cattle company would provide the land area and the new Brunei platform company would do co-management works with the company.
The project would initially establish a 30,000-head cattle farm in Kerchin grassland and expand later, when appropriate.
The operation would duplicate the already established world-class process of Kerchin Cattle Company.
