Bandar Seri Begawan - A traditional English shoe making factory established in 1880 - Loake Shoemakers - is renowned for its handmade Goodyear Welted footwear, especially appointed by the Queen of England, and has been in popular demand as local distribution company, White Collar has been bringing in the brand to their store since April this year.
White Collar, in its commitment to provide the best British brands of men's clothing, yesterday received a visit from Loake Shoemakers' International Sales Manager, Mark Hadden, as part of his Asian stores visit.
Loake Shoemakers conducts intricate workmanship in their shoes, where the shoe design allows a user to feel ultimate comfort. Typical shoe designs incorporate a full leather design with a soft calf leather for the upper section of the shoe, a super-flexible perforated leather insole, breathable memory-foam cushion, flexible leather sole, shock absorbing heel, shank, cushioned heel-sock, and full leather lining, which increases the breathability of an individual's feet.
"Walk on that (shoe), it moulds into the shape of your foot. So if you're walking all day on your feet it will then show the imprint of your foot and becomes your personal shoe, which is a really big benefit for guys, and they actually love it. When they wear the shoe they won't want to wear anything else," explained Mark Hadden during an interview with the Weekend Bulletin during a meetand-greet session.
"It's okay to wear nice shoes with casual wear," continued Mark Hadden in terms of young men who want to look casually sophisticated.
White Collar aims to make the latest formal menswear available locally in Brunei, while striving for quality and excellence without making any compromises on the price as they are the official stockist for their products, many of which are exclusive only to their store.
Shoes from the Loake Shoemakers brand are well-received items in White Collar, where a limitation is imposed upon shoe orders, as a single pair alone can take up to eight weeks to be completed.
When enquired further regarding his personal perception on a potentially high response from male consumers in Brunei for Loake shoes, Mark Hadden noted that it has been fantastic, as White Collar had undertaken little advertising and marketing of this product since its establishment and yet, consumers in Brunei accepted the new brand easily and readily.
White Collar welcomes customers to their store, which provides in-house measurements for its customers to ensure a best fit. Staff members can also provide advice on the perfect fit for the myriad designs available, based on a customer's requirements.
