Letter Of Appointment For New Kg Lamunin Village Head

Tutong - With the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Major (Rtd) Awang Said bin Haji Tinggal has been appointed as the Village Head of Kg Lamunin in Tutong, effective August 18, 2012.

The letter of appointment ceremony for the new Village Head was held recently at his residence.

With the appointment of the Village Head officially unveiled to the immediate community, the Permanent Secretaiy at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dato Paduka Dr Haji Affendy bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abidin presented the letter of appointment and officiated the customary erection of the signage to mark the naming of the new Village Head.

The event began with the reading of surah al-fatihah by Awang Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Tengah, Imam of Kampong Lamunin Mosque, Tutong.

According to Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, Acting Tutong District Officer, the Penghulu and Village Head Service Scheme, Brunei Darussalam 1998, among others, plays a mutual role which links the government to the people and also acts as a representative of the public to the government.

Kg Lamunin covers an area of 21km square and has a population of 1,908 people. The areas under the Village Head's leadership and jurisdiction include Kg Bang Nukat, Kg Pengkalan Tangsi, Kg Lamunin West and South, Kg Piasan and a part of Kg Sungai Beruang and Kg Biong.
