Tutong - Participants of the 'Belia Cinta Tanah Air' programme helped to clean and renovate a home of a needy individual yesterday, as part of the community work activities under the programme.

The guest of honour was Acting Tutong District Officer, Shamsul Bahrin Hj Mohd Hussain.

The Youth and Sports Department, Tutong Branch and officers and staff from the Tutong District Office also lent a helping hand in the charitable cause.

The work was conducted at the house of Awg Mohd Jin bin Hj Md Nor, who lost his leg on July 2012 due to diabetes. He has six children, four of whom are working in the private sector while two are still schooling.

The activities include cementing a section of the house to allow Awg Mohd Jin to manoeuvre his wheelchair easily and to clean up the surrounding areas.

The Tanjong Maya Consultative Council members, Department of Community Development and sponsors also joined the event.
