Bandar Seri Begawan - The Speaker of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa bin Pehin Datu Perdana Manteri Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Ibrahim, yesterday received a courtesy call from members of the fourth committee of the Dewan Perwakilan Daerah Kota Batam (DRD Kota Batam), Indonesia.

The courtesy call was held at the Legislative Council Building.

Upon arrival, the head of delegation, Riki Syolihin, accompanied by the Ambassador of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, Handriyo Kusumo Priyo, called on YB Pehin Dato Haji Awang Isa, and later the speaker was introduced to other members of the delegation.

Among the objectives of the courtesy call was to explain the delegation's mission, which is to share views and exchange ideas related to educational issues and development of entrepreneurship between the younger generation of Brunei and Kota Batam.

Later, the delegates were ushered to have a briefing on the roles and functions of the Legislative Council Hall.

Also present during the courtesy call were YDM Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Awang Judin bin Haji Asar, the Secretary to the Cabinet Minister's Council and Clerk (First) to the Legislative Council; Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Salam bin Abdul Momin, the Clerk II (Second) to the Legislative Council, members of the Legislative Council; YB Datin Paduka Hajah Salbiah binti Haji Sulaiman; YB Datin Paduka Hajah Zasia binti Haji Sirin; YB Awang Haji Gapor @ Hj Mohd Daud bin Haji Karim; and Dayang Rose Aminah binti Haji Ismail, Deputy Clerk.
