Bandar Seri Begawan - The annual Brunei-Malaysia-Singapore Leadership Development Programme (LDP) was held yesterday at the Civil Service Institute (IPA) in Rimba.

Now in its 4th consecutive year since 2009, the programme is co-hosted by Brunei's Civil Service Institute (IPA), Institut Tadbiran Awam Malaysia (INTAN), and Civil. Service College Singapore (CSC).

The year's programme is being held for 12 days, officially commencing at the CSC in Singapore on October 8, followed by Malaysia from October 12 to 14 and ending in Brunei on Thursday, October 18.

Some 30 senior government officers are participating in this year's programme, which aims to provide an opportunity for better networking among the government officers of the three countries.

The participants from Malaysia and Singapore arrived in Brunei on October 15 and yesterday, and all the participants gathered at the IPA for a welcoming session. Present at the event and welcoming the representatives was Hj Kamri bin Hj Mohd Rakawi, Acting Director of the Civil Service Institute (IPA).

This year's programme focuses on `Educational Transformation', whereby part icipants are exposed to the national education system of all the three participating countries, and best practices and policies on education would be shared.

According to a press release from IPA, "the programme is also hoped to provide opportunities for the participants to interact in an informal setting to encourage discussions into the mechanism of handling public policy and employing creative ways of overcoming said barriers that can be added into their experience on tackling national issues, and at the same time, preparing the participants to become future leaders who can meet the unforeseen challenges and expectations".
