Bandar Seri Begawan - In conjunction with the Brunei Regatta which will be held today at Dermaga Diraja, Bandar Seri Begawan, the exhibition and sale (showcase) of One Village One Product of the Village Consultative Councils of Brunei Darussalam was launched yesterday at Plaza Tengah Area, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex.

Attending as the guest of honour was the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.

Also present during the ceremony was the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.

The purpose of the 'One Village, One Product' project is to encourage the mukim and village communities to he more creative, innovative, self-reliant, resilient, competitive as well as to create economic opportunities for the local residents.

Among the categories of items on display are Food, Handicraft, Manufacturing (types of woodcraft), Services, Agriculture, Fisheries and Poultry.

The event will end on February 5, 2013. It is open at 2.30pm until 8pm whereas on Monday and Tuesday, it is open from 10am until 5pm.
