Bandar Seri Begawan - Twenty-one people who are in need received Korban and Akikah sacrificial meat distributed by the Kampong Belimbing Consultative Council yesterday, at a ceremony held at the Sarubing Lake Recreation Centre.

The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Dato Paduka Dr Awg Hj Affendy Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin attended the ceremony and handed out the sacrificial meat to the recipients.

Among the objectives of the event were to commemorate the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim Alaihissalam and his son Prophet Ismail Alaihissalam and to spread the spirit of Aidiladha celebration to those in need, such as the poor, as well as other members of the community.

The Kampong Belimbing Consultative Council sacrificed a total of 11 buffaloes - six for the Korban and five for Akikah - during the eighth of such ceremony organised by the council.
