Bandar Seri Begawan - The construction of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) housing projects in Kampong Sungai Akar and Kampong Perpindahan Lambak Kanan has been completed. Following the completion, key plaque presentations were held yesterday at both housing sites.
Present as guest of honour at the plaque presentation was Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Hj Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Hj Sabtu, the Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force.
The first key plaque presentation was held at the Department of Operation Housing settlement, located in Kampong Sungai Akar.
On behalf of the Public Works Department, the key was presented by Awg Hj Marzuki bin Hj Mohsin, Director-General at the Public Works Department, to the Commissioner of Police who later presented the key to Superintendent Mohd Hadini bin Hj Othman, the Head of Projects and Building Maintenance at the Logistic Department of RBPF.
With the completion of the housing project, which falls under two phases, it will accommodate police personnel and officers who are stationed in the Brunei Muara District.
At the same time, the housing complex is to accommodate police personnel from the Department of Operations and their families under one roof to ease them in performing their daily tasks.
The project commenced in November 2010 and was completed in March 2012 with the cost B$5,679,935. The project comprise one block of 16 units of apartments that includes one living/dining hall, three bedrooms, four bathrooms, one utility room, one store room, one kitchen and a yard.
The project is coordinated by the Public Works Department with Arkitek Idris as its consultant while it was contracted to LCY Development Sdn Bhd.
Before heading to the second venue, the Commissioner of Police was ushered to have a closer look at the facilities, services and accommodations that have been provided under the housing project.
Meanwhile, the second key plaque presentation took place at the Royal Brunei Police Force Housing Complex in Kampong Perpindahan Lambak Kanan. The key plaque was also handed over by Awg Hj Marzuki bin Hj Mohsin to the Commissioner of Police.
The apartment consisted of a block of 15 storeys that include 60 units of apartments. The housing complex began its construction in July 2010, and took 20 months for the project to be completed at a cost of B$18,452,185.46.
The project was also coordinated by the Public Works Department at the Ministry of Development, while Perunding Alamreka was appointed as project architect.
Both of the housing projects is among the RBPF projects that has been approved under the 9th National Development Plan (RKN9) of 2007-2012, and among identified projects in-line with the RBPF strategic programmes of 2007-2016.
