JPA Holds Third GEMS Briefing

Bandar Seri Begawan - The third briefing on the Data Verification of the Government Employee Management System (GEMS) was held yesterday at the Amar Pahlawan Hall at the Ministry of Communications. It was attended by personnel of the Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Ministry of Defence.

The data verification project is an initiative of the Public Service Department (JPA) in cooperation with BAG Networks to strengthen and increase the capabilities of GEMS and the readiness of users to utilise the system.

The objective of the project is to enable all officers and staff to access, scrutinise and validate data including personal data, service records and residual leave, and subsequently, to make updates and amendments if necessary.

Through the system, public service officials have an updated profile in GEMS, which can be accessed with the EG-Bandwidth connection and via the Internet.

Various officers from each of the ministries have been identified and given roles in making GEMS a success, such as a human resource specialists for both data management and absence management, as well as department administrators and managers.

As part of this initiative, JPA will conduct a series of briefings on behalf of those involved to become more familiar with GEMS in stages. GEMS is currently in its in its third phase of development.
