Joint Operation To Check On Foreign Workers

Tutong - Dubbed 'OPS BANTU 3/2012', the Tutong Municipal Department through the Law Enforcement Unit, recently conducted a joint operation that targeted several rental houses and staff quarters that fall under the Tutong Municipal Department control areas.

The joint operation involved 60 enforcement personnel represented by 10 governmental agencies including the Tutong Municipal Department, Fire and Rescue Department of Operation 'E', Department of Health Services Tutong, Immigration and National Registration Department, Royal Customs and Excise Department, Labour Department, the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Religious Enforcement and Aqidah Control Section of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Internal Security Department of Tutong.

Among the purposes of the operation were to ensure that the tenants and workers are not committing any excessive electrical modifications, no modification or renovation to their rooms, inspecting their legal status, to ensure that no one was abusing their workers' passes and to check on other criminal offences.

The joint operation was part of a continuous inspection conducted by the Tutong Municipal Department which was aimed at ensuring that all the laws and regulations that have been stated by the department are followed.

The department will not hesitate to take serious action against those suspected of any wrongdoings.
