Bandar Seri Begawan - International School Brunei (ISB) was flooded in a sea of vibrant colours as it celebrated its annual International Day for its diverse community yesterday.
The "Celebration of Nations" was participated by 960 students of all ages from 43 different nationalities wearing their national costumes in a parade at the start of the event.
Among the participating - students was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Muntaqim, the son of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah.
An Indonesian students music group started off the proceedings, followed by a Malay and Chinese dance and the school's international song. Parents and friends of the students also showed their support by wearing the colours of their countries' flag in The Parade of a Thousand Young People' and paraded with their national flags around the school campus.
Dr Steven Geraghty, CEO of ISB, took the opportunity to congratulate the students, parents and staff for making the event successful and enjoyable.
The day was all about celebrating global citizenship among the students and parents as well as to enjoy the rich variety of nationalities and cultures in the ISB community.
During the celebration there were several activities as well 'as food on sale during the "Taste of Nations" International Food Fair, in which the proceeds went to "ISB Polio Points Project".
Towards the end of the celebration, there were also cultural performances by the student body to entertain the audience.
