Bandar Seri Begawan - Drivers who maintain a clean record for three years running after the full implementation of the Demerit Points System (DPS) would be entitled to a discount on their car insurance premium from participating insurers and takaful operators, revealed the Managing Director of the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) yesterday.

Insurance discount for drivers with clean slate After consultation between the relevant authorities in insurance and takaful industries, Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Rosli bin Haji Sabtu said it was agreed that drivers with a clean record for three consecutive years would be entitled to a five per cent discount on top of their no-claims discount (NCD) from the participating companies.

He said the insurance companies and takaful providers have been invited to participate in this initiative as part of their corporate social responsibility. "I am pleased to note that the industry players have given their full cooperation and commitment on this initiative and look forward to the successful implementation of the programme."
