Bandar Seri Begawan -An indonesian woman was fined B$3,470 or to serve three, months in jail in default of payment, after pleading guilty before the court yesterday to possession of four cartons and 38 packets of undeclared cigarettes at a shop in Kampong Sungai Kebun.

The court heard that Mariam, 27, was arrested at Syarikat DI< Hjh Maryana in Kg Sungai Kebun on October 19, just before 8am, when Customs Preventive officers conducted a raid there and found the contraband hidden in different places.

No permit for the cigarettes could be produced by either the defendant or her employer.

Senior Magistrate Pg Masni Pg Hj Bahar presided over the case.
