Indonesian Man Fined For Failing To Declare Cigarettes At Customs

brunei-high-courtBandar Seri Begawan - A thirty-seven-year-old Indonesian man was fined B$5,000 or to serve six months imprisonment in default of payment after he pleaded guilty to possession of contraband cigarettes.

Mulyono, a lorry driver in Keriam, Tutong evaded tax at the Kuala Lurah Customs Control Post on September 14, 2012.

Mulyono said he did not have anything to declare and upon inspection officers found 15 cartons and 13 packets of cigarettes. Senior Magistrate Muhammad Faisal PD Hj Kefli heard the case.
