Bandar Seri Begawan - Some five hundred people showed up at the Gazathon, a charity run in aid of the Fund for Gaza, organised by the Kg Lambak Youth Association (PERBEKAL) yesterday at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

The guest of honour who officiated the event was YB Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar, the Minister of Communications.

For the female category, the participants were to cover a distance of 5.5km, while the male participants took part in the 7.5km run.

According to the President of PERBEKAL and the chairperson of the charity expo, Pg Nordin bin Pg Hj Mahmud, "I am really happy with the turnout today, I would like to thank all the participants who have helped raise funds for the people of Gaza."

Touching on the upcoming fundraising event, he said, "We will be hosting a Mega Charity Expo from March 24 to April 1, at the parking space of Indoor Stadium, followed by another expo April 24-30.

The Gazathon concluded with a lucky draw presentation.
