Bandar Seri Begawan - Students from Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (CCCT) received their graduation certificates during the 6th Convocation Ceremony at the Indera Kayangan Ballroom, The Empire Hotel & Country Club in Jerudong yesterday, which officially marked the end of their education at the college.
Rafidah Jumat received a special award for the 'Roll of Honor' and 'Global High Achiever Awardee of NCC, United Kingdom'. CCCT Special Awards were also handed to graduates with outstanding academic achievements, best skill developments and good participation in extracurricular activities.
Awarding the certificate to 210 graduates including the special awards was the guest of honour, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Education.
Dr Haji Aziz Latip, the Executive Chairman of CCCT, encouraged the graduates to reach for higher aspirations while announcing the recent expansion of the college's physical facilities to accommodate more students into various courses.
Attending the ceremony was the Deputy Principal of CCCT, Awang Haji Ali bin Bakar, senior officers from the Ministry of Education and Economic Development Planning Department, lecturers and families along with the students.
A speech was given respectively by three outstanding graduates and a traditional dance performance from the CCCT Warisan Budaya Club was also held before the thanksgiving prayers to mark the end of the convocation ceremony.
The Bulletin interviewed a few graduates in the Pre-National Diploma (PND) in Business and Finance. Mohammad Nurul Syafiq bin Mohd Tahir said that he decided to continue his studies after working for six years in his family business and other companies. With the certificate, he hopes to achieve more in life to help his family.
Zulhilmi bin Haji Bakar said, "It is normal to face bitter challenges such as assignment, projects and examination but the best experiences were joining the extra-curriculum activities; Futsal and also studying and getting along with my friends and lecturers."
Dk Siti Nurathirah bte Pg Putra was excited to achieve her graduation certificate after defying the odds and challenges along the way.
