Kiarong - Lady luck was undoubtedly smiling down on Bun Pei Ling as she was yesterday picked as the grand prize winner of the Baiduri Bank Chinese New Year Yee Fatt Dining Promotion, earning herself a Nissan Almera 1.5 saloon car.
The prize presentation ceremony was witnessed at Baiduri Bank in Kiarong.
In keeping with the Chinese New Year spirit of giving, 20 lucky Baiduri cardholders were shortlisted for the promotion, out of the thousands of customers who were eligible for the promotion simply by dining at partner restaurants during the month of February and making payment with their Baiduri credit and debit cards.
Launched on February 1, 2013, the promotion offered Baiduri cardholders fabulous dining discounts of up to 25 per cent at partner restaurants Excapade Sushi and its branches, I-Lotus Restaurants, Kaizen Sushi and its branches, Li Gong Restaurant, Atrium Café, Lucky Restaurant, PhongMun Restaurant, Emperor's Court, Dynasty Restaurant, Seasons Restaurant, and the Airport Restaurant.
Present to hand over the keys to the Nissan Almera 1.5 as well as other prizes was Ti Eng Hui, the Deputy General Manager, Retail Banking and Branch Network Division.
Prizes include the latest communication gadgets such as the Apple iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung i900 Galaxy S3, Apple iPad 5, Samsung P5100 Galaxy Tab 2, Apple iPod Touch 5"' Generation, and two Apple iPad Mini.
Second prize winner Han Pau Ting won himself an Apple iPhone 5, while third prize winner On Hsien Chiang took home a Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Due to overwhelming response, 11 extra prizes were contributed by partner restaurants and given away to winners.
The event started with the presentation of the extra prizes of two B$50 dining vouchers from I-Lotus to Chiaw Yit Ching and Lim Cheok Eng, three B$50 dining vouchers from Lucky Restaurant to Tiang Siang Yang, Ting Heng Hie, and Poh Siaw Chien, two B$50 dining vouchers from Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) to Yusof bin Haji Johan and Goh Kok Wei, two B$100 dining vouchers from RBC to Ak Md Shahrul bin Pg Idris and Hong Chian Yien, and two B$100 dining vouchers from Phong Mun Restaurant to Tie Ching Kin and Liew Fong Lan.
On hand to give away the prizes were representatives from I-Lotus, Lucky Restaurant, RBC and Phong Mun Restaurant.
In the4 first round, nine finalists round were invited to draw from a set of envelopes containing the numbers one to nine to determine the order in which they would proceed in the second round. Another set of envelopes were then produced for the finalists to draw to determine the exact prize each finalist would win.
In the final round, two candidates with an envelope containing the chance to win a car as their ultimate prize were then shown two car keys to pick from. The finalist who picked the right key to open the car door to the Nissan Almera won the car.
