Bandar Seri Begawan- The eight-day mini stage show to enliven an art exhibition for the Gaza Humanitarian Fund which was held at Giant Hypermart Rimba concluded on Saturday. The final show ended with performances from local talents.
The show in the morning started with a performance by Awang Zul who played keyboard and sang Malay, Tagalog, Spanish as well as Japanese songs. The crowd cheered as Zul sang their favourite numbers.
A veteran couple from Temburong District, Awang Budin and his wife performed "Bermukun" with the traditional drums while two teenage groups, Umi's Group and Ruby's Group, came forward to perform songs and dances. Two of the songs that Umi's Group performed were "Poco-poco" and "Aku Rindu" which received loud applause from the spectators.
Meanwhile, Ruby and her group performed on a keyboard and sang a few songs which they wrote themselves.
They also sang a famous song called "My Heart Will Go On" which attracted the crowd to sing along. A member of the group even performed a solo with a guitar.
The guest of honour, the Permanent S ecretary at the Ministry ofCulture,Youth and Sports, Awang Haji Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Haji Yunos attended the afternoon session of the show.
The event was further enlivened by Tausyeh and Nasyid performances from Al Falah School students followed by the presentation of certificates to the organising committees.
The chairman of the event, Awang Haji Firdaus bin OKK Haji Nordin expressed his gratitude to those who supported their initiative and raised money for the Gaza Humanitarian Fund.
This art project was initiated by the Zakaria Omar Arts Foundations. According to its founder, Awang Zakaria bin Omar, the group will organise a lot of charity events in the future.
