Pengkalan Gadong - The first of two camps came to an d- on Thursday, March 14. Campers create any crafts and paid a visit to the Brunei Arts Handicrafts Centre. Up cycling was taught to have the children mindful of the amount of plastic used daily. For decoration and also to show them the wonders of gardening, a used water bottle was upcycled into a bunny with a carrot top planted inside to grow its leaves which will be the bunny ears.

According to a press release, each camper experienced the process of tie-dyeing from the start of a brand new pillowcase to molding, dyeing and seeing the results of their creation. To round off their crafting experience, campers had a picture taken with their personal craft creations which was scrapbooked as a keepsake. Due to the younger age group, campers worked in small teams of two with guidance from a Fun Bee instructor.

The staff of the Brunei Arts & Handicrafts Centre gave the campers and Fun Bee Park staff a tour and showed how silver was crafted, baskets weaved from reeds and beautiful cloth was weaved by hand. The visit taught the campers the patience and time it took to create something beautiful and to take pride in Bruneian handicrafts.

Next up at Fun Bee Park is the Lil' Baker Holiday Camp from March 18 to 21. Campers will be all hands on to bake and frost their very own two-layer cake, cookies, cupcakes and bread.
