Bandar Seri Begawan - In conjunction with the Standard Chartered Half-Marathon Brunei 2013, the event's fitness partnerGetFit CrossFit will be hosting a free run clinic for all participants on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 6am at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. Interested participants are to meet the GetFit CrossFit coaches at the main steps of the stadium.
Gavin Sekhon from GetFit CrossFit said: "It is important for runners to prepare themselves by consistently training towards their fitness goals. Be it a 5km run or the Half-Marathon, one can definitely do better if they are well prepared. We will be teaching participants effective warm up. techniques as well as sharing running tips."
The run clinic will include a series of warm-up exercises and will feature a 5km run around the stadium area. This is the first in a series of fortnightly GetFit CrossFit Run Clinics with the upcoming sessions to be held on February 16, March 2 and March16, all to be held at the same venue. Each fortnight, running distances will also increase with the next session featuring a 10km run before finally ending with a 12km at the final clinic.

The deadline to register for the Standard Chartered Brunei Half Marathon 2013 is March 17, 2013 or when maximum capacities are reached. Interested individuals are encouraged to sign up before this date to avoid disappointment of limited spaces. Categories are capped at 600 participants for the 21km category, 2,000 participants for the 10km category, 2,000 participants for the 5km run and 1,400 participants for the 2.5km category. All of the proceeds raised for the run will benefit. Learning Ladders Society, SMARTER Brunei and Standard Chartered Bank's Seeing Is Believing Programme.
