Bandar Seri Begawan - The Law Society of Brunei Darussalam announced that the next free legal advice clinic will be conducted on January 26 between 9am to 12noon at the Ground Floor of the Law and Subordinate Courts Building, Mile 1, Jalan Tutong.
The date and times for subsequent clinics appears at the same location.
According to the press release, the aim of the clinic is to increase public awareness of legal matters by providing free legal consultation in civil, criminal and Syariah matters. They must not otherwise be able to obtain advice.
Advice will be provided on first come, first serve basis to members of the public seeking consultation in civil, criminal and Syariah matters. They must not otherwise have legal representation and should provide their identity card, residential address and proof of monthly income of less than $750.
The monthly clinic will be run by different law firms each month on a rotational basis with support from Legal Clinic Advice Committee of the Council of the Law Society. This upcoming clinic will be attended by lawyers from Messrs Fathan, Rudi Lee, Annie Kon & Associates and Messrs Pengiran Izad & Lee.
The Law Society was established by the Legal Profession (Law Society of Brunei Darussalam) Order 2003 and its membership is comprised of all advocates and solicitors in private legal practice in Brunei.
